Darlene J. Hedge (Ledgering), 73
Darlene Hedge (Ledgering), 73, died May 8, 2011, with her family by her bedside at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.
She was born June 5, 1937, in Dickinson, N.D., to Ralph and Katherine Hedge. Her father was a delivery man in Dickinson. Her mother came from Mansfield, Ohio, and managed a diner.
They moved to the Coeur d'Alene area in 1945.
Having come from a big family she spent much of her childhood helping her mother on the farm.
Darlene was a devoted mother, dedicated her life to raising her family. Like her mother, she too enjoyed restaurant work and for a short time had owned a few. Later in her life along with her husband Jim ran a Campground in Newport, Wash.
Having her family at the dinner table nightly brought her great joy.
She had a strong personal believe in the lord.
She loved family and friends but most important was her concern for others and to keep a positive attitude.
Darlene is survived by her three sisters, Rose Rohr, Eleanor Merideth and Mert Roske; two brothers, Merl and Russell Hedge; two daughters, Debra Dye and Tonya Lenz; three sons, Darren, Dana Dye and William Lenz Jr.; four grandchildren, Daynay, David, De'nee and Delayne Dye; and one great-granddaughter, Shey'nay Schaffer.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Wesley Dye.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls for family and friends.
