Resort grand opening today at 11

More than 100 tribal leaders and other officials will be on hand at 11 a.m. today for the ribbon cutting and official grand opening of the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort expansion project.

To staff the expanded resort, the tribe has already had 250 people and expects to hire another 50 in the coming weeks. That pushes tribal employment to more than 2,000 people, many of them non-tribal members.

The expansion features 98 new rooms, a steakhouse, a quiet bar, a 15,000 square-foot spa and more.
