James Paul Peterson, 30

| May 2, 2011 10:00 PM

James Paul Peterson (1980-2011) went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2011, at the age of 30. James was born in Spokane and lived most of his life in Post Falls. He graduated from Post Falls High School in 1999 and received a degree in Associate of Arts at North Idaho College. He worked for Coldwater Creek from 2000 to 2002 and at Center Partners from 2003 to 2009.

James was known as "Jiminey Cricket" as a child and as "Jimtendo" when he grew older because he was the Nintendo champ. He loved to read, write books and poetry, and it goes without saying he loved to play computer games.

James is survived by his parents, William (Pete) and Cindy Peterson of Post Falls; his brother, Joseph Peterson of Post Falls; his grandmother, Peggy Dawn Peterson of Coeur d'Alene; great-aunt and uncles, Marge and Fred Edlund, Sylva and Phil Severson, Ron and Jan Moon, Norm and Doris Peterson; aunts and uncles, Val and Greg Godwin, Laurie and Scott Nickols, Sally and Mike Deason, Jill and Jeff Sutton, John and Sandi Edlund, Linda and Dave Christianson, Naomi and Ken Bettis, and Kris Hassebrock. James also had many cousins.

Seth, John, Jake, Josh, Allan, Chris, Dyllan, Dan, Dusty, Brian and Gina were thought of as brothers and sisters to Jim.

James and his infectious laugh will be greatly missed. It has been heart warming to see all the posts on his Facebook page to realize how many lives he has touched.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Post Falls Senior Center in Post Falls. A potluck will follow. Please bring your fond memories.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
