Woods takes first place in Cd'A Anglers fishing derby

About 55 people participated in the competition

Paige Woods took first place in the Lake Coeur d'Alene Anglers Association Members Derby over the weekend.

"Crazy Busy Weekend for many with Ironman and Hoopfest going on - the area was packed with humans," wrote Roger Blackstone "Not the Lake. My weekend was great as my fishing partner took third-place in the members derby."

There were about 55 anglers in the derby.

Standings and pay outs for the derby:

1st - Paige Woods, 13.22 pounds, 31 1/2 inches, $1,000

2nd - Brett Hojem, 11.74 pounds, 29 1/2 inches, $500

3rd - Bob Wynhoff 7.60 pounds, 27 1/2 inches, $250

Other fish weighed: Herb Singer 7.18 pounds, 26 1/2 inches; Clarice Priebe, 7.04 pounds, 28 inches.

"Great time was had by all at Carlin Bay for those that attended," Blackstone wrote.

The Big One derby is Aug 4-7.
