SHERMAN: Pain in plain sight
On April 27 around 11 a.m. I parked my truck at the corner of 12th and Sherman. I walked around the back of my truck to get on the sidewalk. When I stepped up onto the strip of dirt and weeds between the curb and sidewalk I stepped into a divot or small hole I could not see due to the weeds and broke my left leg, right foot and right heel and severely sprained both of my ankles.
I was in a hard cast on my right leg for four weeks and am still in a soft cast on my left leg. While having to stay on the couch for the first three weeks of this "accident" I had a lot of time to think about this. My biggest question is why is the city going to go into debt to replace McEuen field when it should maybe take their blinders off, drive east down Sherman, look around and see what there is that does need to be replaced, fixed or just revamped? Maybe it's because they don't have any personal interest at that end of Sherman.
There is an old saying, "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Hmmm, maybe the council should take a drive eight blocks east and fix what is broke!

P.S. A light at the corner of Fifth and Sherman would be great also!
