RECALL: Effort should begin now

| June 24, 2011 10:00 PM

In the dictionary, the word "finagle" is defined as: "To use crafty, deceitful methods to achieve."

The mayor and City Council, in their latest angling, are indirectly borrowing $16.75 million of taxpayer money to start uprooting McEuen Field immediately and getting rid of the boat ramp.

In order to get rid of the mayor and City Council (we can get rid of two during election this fall) we must go fast into a recall of the mayor. We need to put a notice in the Coeur d'Alene Press, so the hundreds of people against destroying our wonderful recreational McEuen Field can meet at the field and pick up petitions to get it in the ballot in November.

This (not our) finagling mayor and City Council has no shame. It's just "screw the people." A straw vote (if no finagling) is fair and democratic - accepted by all, one way or another. Majority rules - the American way.
