HELICOPTER: Not right use, officers

| June 22, 2011 5:57 AM

The Hayden View Estates around Sundown Drive, CDA was rudely awakened by a police helicopter shining their spotlight in the backyards and windows of the neighborhood. It sounded like they also had their search dogs out too. This went on for a least an hour after midnight on Friday night.

My wife was so frightened because we did not know what was going on, whether it was some lunatic running around the neighbor or what, so I made sure all windows and doors were locked. My wife couldn't sleep the rest of the night thanks to the police scaring the entire neighborhood.

To find out it was only a small party of around 10 minors inside one of the homes, WOW is there anything better we can spend OUR taxpaying dollars on? The police need to focus their resources on the REAL BAD GUYS. The cost of operating a police helicopter is enormous and should only be used for search and rescue operations and to find fugitives. I don't classify teenagers at a party as fugitives. Stopping the kids from driving under the influence is fine but this kind of waste is unbelievable and unacceptable.
