Brent L. Devereaux, 55

| June 20, 2011 10:00 PM

Brent L. Devereaux, 55, was lost to the world on the evening of June 16, 2011, of natural causes in his home.

Born on Feb. 23, 1956, to Gerald Hyde and Rebecca Davila Polanco, he was adopted by Beverly and Bliss Devereaux three months later. Brent was preceded in death by his brother, Andre, and is survived by his ex-wife, Dianne Devereaux, and his sister, Kathleen. He was the father of two sons, Eric and Joel, and grandfather to one, Alexis.

Passionate about art in all forms - painting, poetry, music, carpentry, jewelry and cooking - Brent devoted his time to adding a creative and unique touch to otherwise ordinary things and events. Known to some as "Mr. Incurable Romantic," the people whose lives he touched will always remember him for his special talent of finding connections between two unlike things and always having a proverb to share.

A service to celebrate his life and mourn his passing will be held at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth Street, Coeur d'Alene, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Please visit Brent's online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.

"All I need to know about life I learned from an angel, smiles are the next best thing to halos, laughter is the closest thing to flying, and wishes are dreams that really do come true."

- A proverb with Brent's unique twist.
