FLOWERS: Theft a grave crime

A dear friend and neighbor died 14 years ago. This year I again fixed a hanging basket for her grave at Forest Cemetery and set it up in mid-May. On June 13, I stopped to see if the flowers needed water or to be deadheaded. I was startled, angry and saddened for the third time to find only the hanging hook.
Perhaps I should be flattered the thief (ves) liked the colorful hot pink geraniums and periwinkle blue pansies like my friend planted annually in her window boxes. Instead I'm appalled someone feels the need to steal flowers from a grave.
There are many garden shops and nurseries, including the weekly Farmers' Market, which offer a variety of blooms and prices; local cemeteries should not be among them.
