Brooks bus Cd'A bound

| June 17, 2011 9:00 PM

The name has a carnival-like sound to it. But the Brooks Run Happy Cavalcade of Curiosities is a serious setup from the leading brand in the running market, and it's coming to Fleet Feet Coeur d'Alene on Sunday, July 3.

The Cavalcade, which is highlighted by a custom double-decker bus, includes the Arcade of Oddities museum with displays of running wonders such as the world's largest shoe, "the legendary Bunion Boy's malady preserved and pulsating in a jar" and other strange and memorable exhibits.

Alongside the tongue-in-cheek entertainments are samples of the latest in running shoe technology, concept footwear and a performance lab for free gait analysis for all comers.

Runners of all abilities and skill levels are invited to visit the Cavalcade at Fleet Feet, 511 Sherman Ave., on Sunday, July 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fleet Feet is now taking reservations for 10-minute gait analysis sessions by Brooks biomechanical experts on the second story of the double-decker bus. During the Cavalcade's stay, Fleet Feet will offer a one-day only discount on Brooks footwear.

Fleet Feet is also handing out Brooks Scan-and-Win tickets, redeemable at the Brooks bus for various prizes. The tickets also provide entry into a raffle for a free trip to a Brooks-sponsored Rock N Roll Marathon of the winner's choice. No purchase is necessary.

Call Fleet Feet for more information or to schedule a slot for gait analysis at 765-7604. Learn more about the Brooks Run Happy Cavalcade of Curiosities at RunHappy.Com.
