Duane (Dewey) Cochran, 45

Born Oct. 24, 1965, in San Jose, Calif.

Duane was called home to Jesus on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Duane affectionately kept his nickname of Dewey after his grandfather, Dewey Lee Cochran, of Virginia.

Duane is survived by his mother, Janice Cochran; brother Darrell Cochran; sisters Brenda O'Borsky and Donna Erickson; nephews Matthew and Mark Erickson; and his cat, Viper.

Duane loved North Idaho. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a huge NASCAR fan. His favorite NASCAR driver was No. 4, Kasey Kahne. Duane played softball in his youth and was always an asset to his team. Gardening was another of Duane's passions; he grew vegetables abundantly with very little space. He thoroughly enjoyed cooking and over the years worked in many of our local restaurants.
