Man arrested for alleged fondling

A 50-year-old Rathdrum man was arrested Wednesday night after he allegedly fondled himself while videotaping the reaction of a female employee of a coffee shop on East Trent in Spokane Valley.

Matt A. Lambert was booked into the Spokane County Jail about 6:15 p.m. on two counts of voyeurism.

Police received a complaint earlier this week of a man who allegedly fondled himself while being served at Dagny's, 12900 E. Trent Ave.

In case the suspect returned, officers were placed inside the coffee stand from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, but the suspect failed to show.

On Wednesday, Lambert arrived at the coffee stand and again began fondling himself, according to police.

An officer inside the business observed the activity, police said, called for a backup, and Lambert was arrested.

Man jailed for

nude sunbathing

SANDPOINT - A Montana man convicted of sunbathing in the nude in a front yard was ordered Wednesday to serve 10 days in the Bonner County Jail.

Judge Justin Julian imposed a 60-day sentence in Gary Clifford Morley's indecent exposure case, but 50 days of the custodial term were suspended, according to court documents.

Morley was also ordered to pay a $500 fine and enroll in Lifeskills Northwest counseling for coping skills. Morley was placed on probation for two years.

Morley, a 44-year-old from Troy, was charged with the misdemeanor after a passerby notified Sandpoint Police that there was a man exposing himself while seated in a chair in the 1600 block of Main Street on March 6.

Morley reportedly told police that he felt he was adequately screened by bushes and trees, but an officer advised him they provided poor cover because they lacked foliage.

Julian found Morley guilty of the offense during a court trial last month.
