CHOIR: Politics ruined experience

| June 3, 2011 10:00 PM

I totally agree with the letter to the editor written by Betty Ann Henderson, regarding the turn of events on May 21, at the performance, by the Lake City Harmonizers and the Post Falls choirs held at the Lake City church.

After accepting a generous check from the Harmonizers, for use by the music department, the director of the Post Falls High School choirs ruined the evening by taking advantage of the Harmonizers. He expounded on his political views regarding our legislators. I seriously doubt if the check would have been given by the Harmonizers, had they known what his response would be.

Shame on you John Kratch. Your choirs did a beautiful job that evening, but you spoiled it for many of us. There is a time and place for expounding on your personal opinions and that was not the time and place. I hold teachers and leaders to a higher standard than what you displayed. I feel you owe a public letter of apology to the Harmonizers and all those who attended their usually pleasant event.
