SPENDING: It's simple math
I watched the House debate the balanced budget amendment last week, and I was truly amazed at some of the House members' fear of not being able to spend more than we take in. It was like they just took it for granted they could promise their constituents everything and give it to them.
You bought a house you couldn't afford, no problem, we will make them cut your payments until you can afford them.
You didn't set aside anything for retirement, no problem, we'll just raise Social Security until you can live comfortably.
You are not responsible for your bad decisions in life, so the government should take care of everything.
Everybody should be able to go to college and have a house to live in and a chicken in every pot etc., etc. Guess which side I'm talking about? Are they really that stupid?
