Why Urban Renewal Law is bad law. It includes but is not limited to, the following reasons.
It subverts the will of citizens and circumvents the election process mandated in the Idaho Constitution when it comes to long-term debt. It is the only property tax revenue in Idaho that is spent by an unelected board not directly accountable to the public; therefore, opening the door for illegal dealings outside the law itself. It also marries public and private, by giving tax dollars to private companies and individuals.
Urban Renewal Law is bad law because it is unconstitutional, taxation without representation, fascist and unethical.
