TRUSTEES: Lesson in private agendas
Well, well, well!
Our two new SD271 school board members, in a not even thinly veiled effort to promote their own agendas, have acted immediately... and Mr. Hamilton has the gall to proclaim "... at the very least, it's a lesson in civics..." With all due respect, Mr. Hamilton, democratic, representative government is supposed to be about, among other things, communication, cooperation and compromise. I believe what your "lesson" is about is power politics. I believe you, Mr. Hamilton, and you, Ms. Seymour, want to influence the make-up of the board with the express intent of promoting some agenda that, I believe, has little if anything to do with the good of the order, or kids, or our community.
I am extremely suspicious of your motives. I want to know if you're working for the best interests of our students, the staff, and the community as a whole or, as I suspect, you really don't care as long as you have a platform that allows you to promote some BS agenda that serves the special interests of a select few, your own egos, or both.
Frankly, I don't trust you. From the outside looking in, it appears your first actions as new members of the board will create a hostile working relationship, disunity and unease at a time when cooperation, communication and compromise are critical. That, in my opinion, at the very least, brings in to question your competence. Prove me wrong.
