Charges filed following shooting

TWIN FALLS - A 27-year-old Nevada man who authorities say shot a police officer in the leg following a chase that resulted in the shooting death of a male bystander and that ended with a three-hour standoff involving a female hostage has been charged with felony eluding and felony aggravated battery on a police officer.

Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs said Clark J. Cleveland of Spring Creek, Nev., is being held on $2 million bond and faces potential other charges following the shooting that occurred in the southern Idaho city of Twin Falls on Friday morning.

Police said Cleveland is the only person who fired a weapon. He surrendered after releasing the female hostage unharmed.
