GANESHA: Test this hypothesis
Censorship in America - let's put it to the test. (Hypothesis: Logic: The method of Hypothesis. A hypothesis can be tested by deducting new conclusions from it as premises and investigating more facts to see if these new conclusions are true.)
Ganesha ... put it to the test, could this artwork possibly be a monetary loss... or... corporate censorship? Corporate censorship is censorship by corporations, the sanctioning of speech by spokes persons, (cities arts commission) employees and business associates.
I do not believe this to be a dramatic conspiracy to remove the "Big Feller." $35,000. Ganesha, however, I do believe it to be corporate censorship. I believe it to be a monetary loss to the city if this creature is removed. It is no longer a sacred creature but a dollar figure. Why don't they put Salvador Dali's art in replace of Ganesha? I looked up Salvador's artwork and it is a lot cheaper, even has Free Shipping on 100,000 items and highest quality, another dilemma. Expensive art is like having an expensive Gucci bag, we must display it. Put it somewhere where it will draw attraction.
Correct me if I am wrong... didn't Jim Carrey (Hollywood actor) get into some sort of trouble for some stupid skit on Saturday Night Live about portraying Ganesha? It's been a while back but it made the news. NBC (General Electric) was asked to do a public apology for the Ganesha skit (it was vulgar). I still think the city would have been money ahead if they would have researched other venues. Will there be another substantial consequence for the city of Coeur d'Alene? Even Salvador has the familiar feeling that everything is good! Although, much cheaper. No motive, no ideology, no values! I read from the Internet that even Walt Disney Company got into a troubled spot in releasing "Fahrenheit 911."
Back to "My Turn" Friday, July 8 (Nancy Lowery opinion):
"THE ROLE OF THE CITY IS TO OVERSEE THE BUDGETING AND EXPENDITURES OF THE CITY; WE LIVE IN A TIME OF DEEP RECESSION WHERE MORE THAN EVER THERE NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABILITY TO THE PUBLIC OF WHERE PRECIOUS DOLLARS ARE SPENT."
In my books, "another blunder."
Let us put the "hypothesis to the test."
