Robert Ward Williams (Bob)

| January 31, 2011 1:22 PM

On the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, Robert Ward Williams (Bob), of Boise, passed from this life and was greeted in heaven by His loving Lord and Savior. He had been dealing with multiple health issues for a number of years.

Bob was born and raised in Kellogg. After his graduation from Kellogg High School, he attended the University of Idaho, ROTC program. Following his graduation from U of I, he completed his master's degree at the University of Colorado. Then, he was off to the U.S. Air Force. Bob served as pilot and flight instructor for students from 26 foreign countries and performed many other various responsibilities - including operating a Flight School. He was given the distinct honor of receiving an invitation; and then attended the Air War College. Bob completed 20 years of service in the Air Force and retired in 1974 as Lt. Colonel.

He later worked for the Idaho State Insurance Fund for 18 years, as Auditor for Workers Compensation. For several years before his retirement, Bob was serving as Supervisor of Auditing for our great state.

Bob always poured his ‘all' into everything he did to serve is country and his state - and did so with great integrity. But his greatest joy was serving his fellow man and giving a hand to anyone who crossed his path that may have a need. Indeed, he was a "people person." Yet, more than anything else in life, he loved to serve his Lord. He truly had a gift for teaching, and he would teach adult Sunday school, or Children's Sunday school. He served on church boards and was always there to assist wherever needed. Bob (affectionately called Bobby by many) was gentle and a kind, quiet man - and he loved to laugh and make others happy.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jeannie Lee Williams and his brother, John and wife Gail; sister Sharon Limes; and his brother, Dennis, and his wife, Bonnie. Bob will be greatly missed by his daughter, Teri Thomas, and her husband, John, of Seattle, Wash.; and his son, Nathan Williams and wife Stacie of Coeur d'Alene; and step-children Darren and Greg Jordan; and grandchildren are Sarah, Matthew, Heather, Dawn, Madison, Charity, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Nellie Williams and his son, Bobby Williams.

A military honor burial was held Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise, which was followed by a memorial service at Christian Life Fellowship Church in Boise, led by Pastor Scott Quinn. A memorial service will be held in Coeur d'Alene at a later date. Boise arrangements are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.

Flowers for the services was sent to Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel in Boise or a donation in Bob's honor may be made to: Christian Bible Fellowship or World Vision.
