Injured crash victims released

COEUR d'ALENE - Two people injured Saturday in a vehicle collision on Highway 95 near Cougar Gulch were hospitalized and later released, according to Idaho State Police and Kootenai Medical Center personnel.

John M. Shepard, 57, of Coeur d'Alene was northbound near milepost 427 at 12:55 p.m. when his 2009 Jeep Patriot crossed into oncoming traffic, police said. The Jeep collided with a southbound 2008 Ford Edge driven by Diana C. Andrews, 62, of Coeur d'Alene.

Shepard and Andrews were injured and transported to KMC, police said. They were treated and later released.

Shepard and Andrews were wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred, police said. Alcohol was not a factor.
