HOPE: Citizen finds it in a shed

| January 30, 2011 9:00 PM

I was selling a large walk-in firewood shed. A young engineer, Steve Durban, from Sandpoint bought it. He was going to make a gift of the shed for an elderly man who's low on funds and needing some way to keep his firewood dry. I was very impressed that anyone would go to all the expense and work to help another.

On a very cold and rainy day, Steve, his three sons and Don Larson, a Priest River engineer, appeared and dismantled the shed. They loaded it on a large trailer and took it to Sandpoint to re-erect.

The above is an act of generosity uncommon in our society. If we all, including me, copied this generosity toward the needy we'd have a better society.
