Valentine Cabaret Cruise is Feb. 12

| January 29, 2011 8:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - An evening of romance, music and entertainment will take place aboard the Mish-an-Nock on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Talented singer Mark Cotter will take the stage during the Valentine Cabaret Cruise, casting off at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50, and space is limited.

Cotter, who lives part-time in Coeur d'Alene and has been singing cabaret for a number of years, will treat the audience to a special performance, a combination of age-old Valentine's Day songs and more contemporary music.

"It's kind of a potpourri," Cotter explained. "An eclectic mix of everything. It should be a good night."

A pianist and bass player will accompany Cotter on-stage during the performance, providing melodious background notes.

Guests will dine on hearty appetizers and enjoy a nighttime cruise on Lake Coeur d'Alene. It will be Cotter's first performance aboard the Mish-an-Nock, pride of The Coeur d'Alene Resort's cruise fleet.

"It seems I get around to this neck of the woods to do my cabaret stuff every couple of years," Cotter said. "There's something about cabaret that is so specific, and so intimate, and so immediate. When it's right, it's just this magical moment that happens."

Actress Ellen Travolta, a longtime friend of Cotter's, will introduce the singer.

"I think he's wonderful. He's just terrific," Travolta said. "He's funny, he's moving, and he's got a wonderful voice."

Call The Coeur d'Alene Resort at 765-4000 Ext. 21 to reserve a ticket for the Valentine Cabaret Cruise. Reserve a spot today, because the seats are filling up fast.
