ANNIVERSARIES

Ron and Renee Lyons

30th Anniversary

Ron and Renee Lyons were married Jan. 24, 1981, in Post Falls. Ron is from Racine, Wis., and Renee grew up in Post Falls. They met at the Post Falls Park.

They have two children, Tawney and Dustin, both still in the area, and three grandchildren.

Ron drives for USF Reddaway and Renee is a housewife. They enjoy camping and rides on their Harley with their many friends.

Ray and Rosemarie Newkirk

50th Anniversary

Ray and Rosemarie Newkirk celebrated their 50th anniversary by renewing their vows on Jan. 12, 2011. They were married in Springfield, Ore., on Jan. 12, 1961.

Ray served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a miner and truck driver until he retired from King Co. in 1983. They moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1998. Rosemarie was a homemaker and clerical worker until she retired in 2008.

They have two daughters, Valarie Moser of Athol and Jennifer Newkirk of Quincey, Wash.; one son, Wayne of Renton, Wash.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charlie and Lou Epler

60th Anniversary

Charlie Epler, son of Lloyd and Bessie Epler of Harrison and Lou Hamlin, daughter of Tom and Velma Hamlin of St. Maries were married by a preacher in Coeur d'Alene on Dec. 30, 1950, at a cost of $10.

After a three-day honeymoon they returned to St. Maries where they have lived the entire 60 years of their married life.

They raised four children, Scottie, Ginger, Eddie and Darrell who all graduated from St. Maries High School. They lost their youngest son Darrell in a tragic auto accident in 1975 but the other three all were married and remained in St. Maries producing seven grandchildren who with their spouses doubled that and produced 13 great-grandchildren for the Eplers to enjoy.

A formal celebration of their 60th anniversary is planned by their children for later this spring.

WEDDING

Farr-Wagstaff

On July 17, 2010, Amber Jewel Farr and Tyler Bacon Wagstaff were married in West Glacier, Mont. The outdoor wedding and reception were held at Great Northern Resort overlooking the Lake McDonald valley in Glacier National Park.

The bride is the daughter of Rev. Terry and Connie Farr of Hollidaysburg, Pa. Rev. Farr and Pastor Craig Dyson officiated at the ceremony. Amber's grandparents were the late Shirley J. Farr and the late Richard C. Farr. Grandparents also are Margie L. West and the late Thomas W. West.

The groom is the son of Peter and Anne Wagstaff of Hayden Lake. Tyler's grandparents were the late Patricia A. Bacon and the late H. William Bacon of Spokane. Grandparents also are Irmengard Wagstaff and the late Maj. Gen. Jack J. Wagstaff of McLean, Va.

Amber graduated from Bethel College in Indiana. She currently works as a youth care supervisor at Western Montana Mental Health Center in Kalispell, Mont. She also gives private instruction in piano. Tyler graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is employed as a firefighter and EMT with the Evergreen Fire Department near Kalispell. This summer he will begin pursuit of a career as a physician assistant in the master's degree program at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands and reside in Kalispell.

ENGAGEMENTS

Knudtsen-Cofield

Lauren Benedict and Kendra Cofield of Coeur d'Alene are happy to announce the engagement of their parents, Eve Knudtsen and Wayne Cofield.

The couple plan to be married Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene.

Inbody-Modine

Randy and Karen Inbody of Camarillo, Calif., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Inbody of Santa Barbara, Calif., to Robert Mark Modine of Ventura, Calif., son of Mark and Allison Modine of Coeur d'Alene.

Sarah is currently a full-time student at UCSB and plans to graduate in June 2011. Robert is currently a student at Ventura Community College. He is a Navy Reservist and also works as a civilian on Port Hueneme Naval Base.

The couple plans to wed in fall 2011 in Coeur d'Alene.

MILITARY

PV2 Kristopher M. Lawhead joined the United States Army in July 2010. He graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. He is now stationed at Fort Eustis in Virginia for AIT where he will graduate in early February.

Kristopher is a 2007 Coeur d'Alene High School graduate.

Navy Seaman Recruit Jake R. Hale, son of Stephanie and Steven L. Hale of Post Falls, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Hale is a 2010 graduate of Post Falls High School in Post Falls.
