Roberta (Robyn) Gail Smith, 60

Robyn Smith was set free on Jan. 22, 2011, surrounded by family and close friends, after battling an extended illness.

Robyn was born on July 17, 1950, in Burbank, Calif. The daughter of Robert and Beaulah Watson. She graduated from N. Hollywood High and attended Azuzah Pacific College. Relocating in 1971 to Spokane, Wash., where she met and married her future husband Richard Smith Jr. They were married Aug. 12, 1972, in Coeur d'Alene where they finished their home of 38 years in Cougar Gulch.

Her love for the Lord and faith were always first in her life followed by her dedication to family, gardening, entertaining, endless friendships and her creativity in home design which she incorporated into a shared business with her husband including commercial contracts and residential home design consulting.

She was also a dedicated part-time employee of the Fashionette - a longtime downtown women's boutique. Her love of people was also extended to many years of Sunday School teaching women's Bible studies and volunteering.

She is survived by her husband, Richard (Rick) Smith Jr.; daughter Raelynne Smith; sister Cathy Watson of Portland, Ore.; nephew Chaz Watson of Portland; niece Christina Cox of Windsor, Calif.; sisters Judy Hoppe and Jean Barnes; brother John Daniels, all of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The memorial and celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Hayden Friends Church on Miles Avenue.
