NIC theater presents 'Crimes of the Heart'

| January 28, 2011 8:00 PM

The North Idaho College theater department will present the comedy by Beth Henley "Crimes of the Heart" as its winter theater production Feb. 17-26.

"Crimes of the Heart" is a Pulitzer Prize winning comedy about three sisters from Hazelhurst, Miss., that face all of their family's dysfunction as they deal with their dying grandfather and the youngest sister's wounded husband.

"This is a beautifully written play, with a story so truthfully told that as we laugh at the silliness of the characters and their actions, we also see ourselves," said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby.

The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 17-19 and Feb. 24-26 in NIC's Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.

The cast features students Kelsea Mort of Post Falls, Emily Cleveland of Hayden and Brittney LaCalli of Coeur d'Alene as well as community members Jordan Schaefer, Jonathan Wenger and Anthony St. Claire. The play will be directed by Trigger Weddle. It is free and open to the public.

The play is intended for audiences 13 or older. Do not bring infants.
