Hot second half lifts EWU

CHENEY (AP) - Tremayne Johnson came off the bench to score 20 points, and Eastern Washington's torrid second half carried the Eagles past Portland State 65-51 on Thursday night.

Kevin Winford had 12 points and Laron Griffin and Glen Dean added 10 each for the Eagles (6-14, 3-5 Big Sky), who shot 60 percent from the floor in the second half after managing less than 29 percent in the first half. Charles Odum scored 14 points and Paul Guede 10 for the Vikings (10-10, 3-5).

EWU hosts Idaho State on Saturday.
