A Wish for a smile

HAYDEN - Kira Kitchen is all smiles again.

Thanks to Wishing Star, the 16-year-old has bright, white teeth following a final treatment at Dr. Ryon Scholfield's office on Tuesday.

Kitchen suffers from severe anemia. Because her body doesn't create enough red blood cells, she has to have a blood transfusion every six weeks at least.

"Due to the long list of medications that go with this, Kira's teeth have become yellowed," a release said. "She has an absolutely stunning smile, but no longer gives you that winning grin because she is embarrassed of her teeth."

Kira wished for a smile makeover. After many appointments, a dentist and orthodontist decided that what Kira needed were veneers, which are porcelain composites used to cover the colored tooth.

"This will give Kira that bright white smile she misses," the release said.

She also received an entire makeover, complete with a hair cut and dye, makeup, pedicure, manicure, spa services, a limo ride, a stay in a hotel and professional pictures.
