Mabel F. Shea, 95

Mabel F. Shea, 95, died Jan. 23, 2011, at home after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Boston, Mass., to Henry J. White and Mabel Frazier White. She had two brothers, Henry and Alfred.

She graduated from Revere High School in 1934. She was a ballet dancer and performed in many clubs throughout the Boston area.

She married Daniel F. Shea on June 14, 1937, in Boston where they resided until 1951 when they moved to Seattle, Wash., where Dan was employed by Boeing. In 1959 they moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., where they remained until their move to Coeur d'Alene in 1988 to be near their son and grandchildren.

Mabel was active in the Lake City Senior Center where she belonged to the senior artist group. She sold her many paintings locally.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Ann Shea of Coeur d'Alene; granddaughters Shannon Gettings of Seattle and Deborah Shea of Coeur d'Alene; as well as seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Yates Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.

Private family only services will be held.
