Edythe Martha Dickson Bassett Sweatman, 90

Edythe Martha Dickson Bassett Sweatman, 90, of Coeur d'Alene, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2011, at home. She was born Aug. 19, 1920, in Mora, Minn., to Carl and Sigred (Nordenstrom) Dickson.

"Dixie" was a librarian and worked for both public and school libraries.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Bassett of Coeur d'Alene, Robert and Linda Bassett of Post Falls, John and Sharon Bassett of Hayden Lake, Andrew and Tina Sweatman of Coeur d'Alene, and James and Simi Sweatman of Germany. Dixie is also survived by a daughter, Terry Marie Bassett Ramsey of Santa Clarita, Calif., and a daughter-in-law, Jackie Bassett of Hayden Lake. Other survivors include a brother, Maurice "Bud" Dickson of Modesto, Calif., and 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Dixie is preceded in death by her sisters, Laura Smith, Otillia Devork and Signe Allemange.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls. Bell Tower Funeral Home, Post Falls, is in care of the arrangements.
