Amende, a redshirt freshman heavyweight from Post Falls High, placed second in tournaments in back-to-back weeks for the NAIA Argos. On Jan. 15, Amende lost to fourth-ranked Frank Lopez of Dickinson State 5-3 in the finals of the Dickinson Classic. In last weekend's Jimmie Classic, Amende lost to teammate Juan Enriquez 7-6 in the finals.
