Vandals Enderle, Keo play in Shrine game today

Idaho quarterback Nathan Enderle joins Vandal safety Shiloh Keo today when West meets East in the 86th annual Shrine football game (1 p.m., ESPN2) at the Florida Citrus Bowl at Orlando, Fla.

Signups under way for Cd'A rec hoop leagues

COEUR d'ALENE - Registration runs through Feb. 18 for the Coeur d'Alene Recreation Department's spring men's basketball leagues.

A recreational league is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays, and a competitive league is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The entry fee is $385 per team. Signups will be taken at the recreation department, 710 Mullan. League play is scheduled to begin March 7.

Ex-NIC baseball player to speak to NIC boosters

COEUR d'ALENE - Former North Idaho College baseball standout and local businessman Rick Brown will speak at the NIC Booster Club luncheon Tuesday at noon at The Coeur d'Alene Resort Shore Lounge.

Brown was an all-state high school baseball player at Billings West High in Montana before coming to NIC on scholarship in 1986. He played at NIC from 1986-88, then played for Eastern Oregon State College. Brown went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Montana and attended graduate school at Houston Baptist in its land title management program. Brown currently serves as president for a consortium of title companies, including North Idaho Title.

He and his wife Roxanne, who was a member of the NIC's 1987 national champion cross country team, share four children.

The public is welcome to attend. The cost of lunch is not covered.
