Students sound off on ed reform proposal

| January 20, 2011 10:33 AM

A Coeur d'Alene High School teacher asked students on their class blog what they think of Idaho schools chief Tom Luna's proposed "Students Come First" education reform package.

"I did everything that I could to not put my own opinion into it, just presented to the students what the proposal from Luna is," wrote photography instructor Bruce Twitchell.

Twitchell felt it was important to gather students' input because he doubts they were consulted during the development of the plan.

The majority of Twitchell's students, about 80 percent, are in 9th grade. The students' screen names are jumbled for security and safety purposes.
