Emergency seminar set for Saturday

POST FALLS - Kevin Creighton, a former Los Angeles County officer experienced with riots, will present a free emergency readiness seminar at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Post Falls police station, 1717 E. Polston Ave.

The seminar is open to the public and is geared toward getting families ready for any type of disaster. It will offer how to create emergency operation kits. It will also cover what to expect and how to sustain yourself 72 hours after a disaster has occurred.

Creighton is currently employed with the county's probation and parole division. He will also discuss previous disasters such as the Los Angeles riots, Ice Storm, Hurricane Katrina and Mount St. Helens.
