Fire damages Athol home

ATHOL - A structure fire damaged a home in the Shamrock Ranch subdivision near Silverwood Theme Park on Tuesday.
One homeowner was inside the residence at 27460 N. Targhee when the fire started, according to Tyler Drechsel, Northern Lakes Fire Protection District fire inspector. She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, but not hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
The homeowner called authorities when a smoke detector warned her of the fire, Drechsel said.
Firefighters from Northern Lakes, Timberlake and Spirit Lake fire protection districts responded about 11:30 a.m., authorities said. Crews controlled and suppressed the fire, and left the scene about 3 p.m.
There was smoke and heat damage inside the home, Drechsel said. Some fire damage occurred on the lower level, where the blaze appeared to have started.
The cause of the fire was unknown Tuesday afternoon. Drechsel said it was possibly electrical.
He said he will return to the scene today or Thursday for further investigation.
