Lucille Centola, 85

Lucille E. Centola, 85, of Hayden, died Jan. 1, 2011, at Kootenai Medical Center. She was born July 2, 1925, in Los Angeles, Calif.

She graduated from high school in Hawthorne, Calif., where she was a school cheerleader. Lucille made her home in Los Angeles where she began a long career in the many aspects of the dentistry profession.

Lucille was married to Richard Centola on April 9, 1978, in Las Vegas, Nev., and they made their home in Palmdale, Calif. She retired from her work in public relations with the dental profession and they moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1997. She enjoyed her family, reading, dancing, music and the beauty of the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Centola; her daughter, Pamela Canfield; grandchildren, Cierra Canfield, Cody Canfield and Christopher Canfield; nieces and nephews, Gregory Mertens, Cherilyn Sheets Moehlman and Terri Polehonki; grand nieces and grand nephews, Melisa Moehlman, Kevin Mertens, Brian Mertens and Katie Marie Polehonki.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at St. Pius Catholic Church.
