James A. Griggs, 64

Jimmy G. passed away Jan. 7, 2011, in Post Falls. He was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Coeur d'Alene to Arthur C. Griggs and Nina D. (Lembke).

He grew up in Post Falls and served in the U.S. Army. After he was discharged from the military he returned to Post Falls. When his marriage ended he moved to Arizona for a few years and then relocated to Post Falls where he was residing at the time of his passing.

Jimmy G. was a long-haul truck driver, always friendly and willing to help others. He also enjoyed singing and playing the harmonica.

He is survived by his sister, Adelia Oliver of Hauser Lake; son Michael (Ronda) Griggs of Spokane, Wash.; daughters Renee, Waunita, Brenda of Spokane and Jasimine of Coeur d'Alene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son James Jessie, two sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at The Church of the Nazarene, 308 W. 12th, Post Falls, with a potluck to follow. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
