Fundraiser planned for Bayview family

| January 12, 2011 8:00 PM

A fundraiser has been organized to benefit the family attacked last month in Bayview.

The funds will be used to help pay expenses for medical treatment and travel between Bayview and Coeur d'Alene for the family.

Three people were injured and one woman, Patricia Heath, died.

Her husband, Michael Heath, suffered minor injuries. His mother, Lorraine Wallis, suffered serious injuries.

The Heaths' son, Jedidiah Heath, suffered serious injuries.

A 31-year-old Bayview man, Larry W. Cragun, has been accused ofattacking the family with a hammer and knife.

The fundraiser for the Heath family will be Jan. 23 at the Log Spirit Bed and Breakfast, at 31328 N. Tiara Lane, in Athol.

Appetizers and beverages will be served, and there will be guitar and vocal performances, and drawings for prizes.

The entertainers will include JenniferHester, Judy Gullidge, Lew VanDeMark, and Mike Dorsey.

Robin McKellar, owner of Log Spirit Bed and Breakfast, will be hosting the event.

There will be a $15 suggested minimum donation by cash or check at the door.

The first session of the fundraiser will run from noon to 3 p.m. The second will run from 3-8 p.m.

There will be limited capacity, so organizers recommend calling to reserve a preferred time slot.

Organizers want to determine how many people will attend to ensure there's enough food.
