Creo Fay Lovins

Creo Fay Lovins passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene. She was born Creo Fay Hartman on Feb. 21, 1914, in Vestaburg, Mich., to Vern and Cena Hartman. They moved to California in 1924 and settled in the city of El Monte.

Creo met and married Herbert Lovins in 1931. They moved to the high desert and settled in Littlerock, Calif., in 1942. There they bought a home on acreage and started a turkey ranch. They operated the Lovins Turkey Ranch for over 30 years. Creo lived on her own following the death of her husband in 1984. Recently she sold the ranch and moved in with her daughter, Aladayne, in Laguna Woods, Calif. Later, she moved up to Spirit Lake to live with her daughter and son-in-law Wandene and Clarence Logan and her grandson and his wife, Howard and Wendy Logan.

She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals and had many pets over the years. She is survived by her daughter, Aladayne Highfill of Laguna Woods, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Wandene and Clarence Logan, 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was loved by all her family and will be greatly missed. Services will be held at Halley-Olsen Mortuary on at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, with a viewing prior.

Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel, is entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
