Jackson helps CSI men hand NIC third straight SWAC loss

TWIN FALLS - Pierre Jackson had 25 points, six rebounds and seven assists as 14th-ranked Southern Idaho defeated 11th-ranked North Idaho College 99-83 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game on Saturday.

"They came out and took it to us tonight," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "CSI played really well and did a great job."

After the Golden Eagles missed their first five shots from the floor, Jackson hit three consecutive 3-point field goals to put CSI in the lead. The Golden Eagles outrebounded the Cardinals 30-11 in the first half as they built a 57-37 lead at halftime.

The loss snaps a seven-game win streak for NIC against CSI

"They were fired up and determined to get a win," Phay said. "They outplayed us in every facet of the game."

Tyrone White scored 25 points for NIC (15-3, 0-3 SWAC), which hosts Eastern Utah on Thursday at Christianson Gym. Michael Hale was limited to 2 of 4 from the floor, but was 14 of 14 from the foul line for NIC.

Jerrold Brooks scored 14 points for CSI, which improves to 16-2, 2-1.
