Chiefs rattle off sixth straight win

SPOKANE - Brady Brassart broke a 2-all tie midway through the third period, and the Spokane Chiefs went on to beat the Everett Silvertips 4-2 in Western Hockey League play Saturday night before 6,635 at Spokane Arena.

Tyler Johnson added two goals and an assist for Spokane, which matched its season high with its sixth straight victory. Levko Koper had a goal and an assist, and Brenden Kitchton had three assists. Johnson's second goal came with two seconds left in the game.

Spokane outshot Everett 33-24, and the Chiefs' James Reid had 22 saves.

Spokane (24-10-3-2, 53 points) is now two points out of first place in the U.S. Division, and travels to first-place Portland on Wednesday.
