Tennessee routs No. 21 Memphis

Tobias Harris scored 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Tennessee (10-4) got its third win over a ranked opponent this season with a 104-84 rout of No. 21 Memphis (11-3) on Wednesday night at Knoxville, Tenn.

It was the win the Volunteers have been looking for after dropping four of the past six games, including an embarrassing 91-78 loss to College of Charleston on Friday.

The Vols grabbed nine more rebounds than the Tigers in the first half by dominating the offensive boards.

No. 1 Duke 85, UAB 64: At Durham, N.C., Nolan Smith scored a career-high 33 points to help Duke (14-0) beat Alabama-Birmingham (10-3).

No. 3 Kansas 99, UMKC 52: At Lawrence, Kan., Josh Selby had 16 points to lead six Kansas players in double figures and the Jayhawks (14-0) defeated UMKC (8-7).

No. 6 San Diego State 66, TCU 53: At Fort Worth, Texas, Malcolm Thomas had 18 points and 10 rebounds and San Diego State (16-0) beat TCU (9-7) in the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams.

No. 9 Missouri 98, North Alabama 58: At Columbia, Mo., Kim English scored a season-high 20 points, all in the first half, and Missouri (14-1) beat Division II North Alabama (6-9).

No. 11 Purdue 83, Penn State 68: At State College, Pa., JaJuan Johnson had 15 points and 15 rebounds, leading Purude (14-1, 3-0 Big Ten) past Penn State (8-6, 1-2).

No. 15 BYU 89, No. 25 UNLV 77: At Las Vegas, Jimmer Fredette scored 39 points to lead BYU (15-1) past UNLV (12-3) in the Mountain West Conference opener for both teams.

No. 19 Central Florida 65, Marshall 58: At Orlando, Fla., Marcus Jordan had 26 points and five assists and Central Florida (14-0, 1-0 Conference USA) beat Marshall (10-4, 0-1).
