Lightning grab Southeast Division lead

Martin St. Louis scored off a rebound 2:54 into overtime, and Dwayne Roloson made 34 saves in his Tampa Bay debut, leading the visiting Lightning to a 1-0 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night that broke the teams' tie for the lead atop the Southeast Division.

St. Louis poked the puck past Semyon Varlamov after a shot by Pavel Kubina ricocheted out, ending Washington's three-game winning streak.

The Lightning have won nine of 11 and moved into a tie with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh for the Eastern Conference lead with 53 points.

Tampa Bay acquired the 41-year-old Roloson from the New York Islanders in a trade Saturday. He wore a mask with the Islanders' orange and blue colors and logo.

Wild 2, Devils 1: At Newark, N.J., Clayton Stoner scored his first NHL goal 1:14 into the third period and Jose Theodore made 21 saves as Minnesota beat New Jersey.

Red Wings 5, Oilers 3: Todd Bertuzzi scored twice, including the game winner, and Detroit won at Edmonton.

Avalanche 4, Sabres 3, OT: At Denver, David Jones scored a power-play goal 4:17 into overtime and Peter Budaj stopped 37 shots, helping Colorado snap a two-game skid with a win over Buffalo.

Coyotes 4, Blue Jackets 2: At Glendale, Ariz., Shane Doan scored with 8:19 remaining to lift Phoenix past Columbus.
