COOLIDGE, Ariz. - Kama Griffitts connected with 4 of her 7 3-point shots and finished with 29 points to pace the North Idaho College Cardinals to a 80-73 win over NJCAA powerhouse Central Arizona on Monday.

"It was an awesome game," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "They were telling me that Central (11-3) hasn't lost here very much over the years, and we played out our our mind."

Central Arizona, ranked fifth in the latest NJCAA poll, had a 14-point lead early before the Cardinals (12-2) battled back.

"We tied it with a minute to go on Kama's rainbow 3," Carlson said. "Then we got a couple of stops to put it away."

North Idaho is back in action tonight, facing Chandler-Gilbert in Chandler, Ariz.

COEUR d'ALENE - Michael Hale poured in 20 points to go along with eight assists and eight rebounds and host North Idaho built on a 14-point halftime lead to beat Columbia Basin College.

Deandre Taylor added 13 points and Nick Fromm 10 points and four rebounds for the Cardinals (15-2), who face College of Southern Idaho on Saturday in Twin Falls.

North Idaho outrebounded Columbia Basin 49-30, and held a 18-9 second-chance point edge.

Former Lake City standout Wes Beusan connected on 5 of 7 from the floor and finished with 12 points for Columbia Basin.

Jordan Poynor led the Hawks with 19 points.
