COEUR d'ALENE - Tyrone White scored 21 points to lead the North Idaho College Cardinals past the Camosun College Chargers of Victoria, British Columbia 98-72 in a nonconference game at Christianson Gymnasium.

"This was a perfect game for us to play right out of the break," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "They were a well organized and coached team. We were able to play everyone and get back into a groove after having three weeks off."

Freshman Zach Peterson had 18 points on 7 of 13 shooting off the bench for NIC (14-2), which hosts Columbia Basin College on Monday.

"It was a career-high for Zach," Phay said. "He's been practicing well and carried it over to the game."

Walla Walla 51

COEUR d'ALENE - Sophomore Kama Griffitts scored 18 points to lead five North Idaho Cardinals in double-figures in a victory over the Walla Walla Warriors on Friday at Christianson Gymnasium.

"I was pretty nervous about this game," NIC coach Chris Carlson said. "They won the NWAAC championship last year and Bobbi is a great coach. They brought a 9-1 record into Coeur d'Alene and we've been sitting on two losses for three weeks. Kama was exceptional today and came out on fire right from the start."

NIC outrebounded Walla Walla 51-41 in the game.

"I was real pleased with our effort on defense, rebounding and executing our offense," Carlson said. "Everyone played at least 14 to 22 minutes and we really wanted to get some momentum going into Monday."

NIC (11-2) visits Central Arizona on Monday.
