FIRED: Losing a good cop

Was shocked Tuesday morning to see Officer Johnson had been fired. The city has lost a respected policeman. You could always count on officer Johnson to be courteous, helpful and informative.

I'm positive it was hard for Scott and Eric, both great guys, to terminate Ian but I wish they would have handled it differently. A suspension without pay, reprimand, or just an ole good butt chewing I believe would have been more appropriate.

Granted I know nothing more than what I have read in The Press and there could be something more to this than what has been said but I sincerely hope not.

From the outside looking in, it just seemed trivial and perhaps part of the zero tolerance political correct craziness, and again ... I hope not.
