TRIP: Teacher asks for help

Hello citizens of the greater Coeur d'Alene community. My name is Karen Coughenour. I teach civics at the Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy and have sponsored five eighth grade spring break trips to Washington, D.C. I am writing this to tell you about a student of mine who was going to D.C. with us - until a day ago. His account was paid in full and he was ready to go. Unfortunately, his mother lost her job and had to cancel his trip because they needed the money. I am willing to put in $200 if the community will help me put in another $1,050. This young man has worked very hard to maintain decent grades - a challenging accomplishment for our school.
