REFORM: It's time to privatize

After reading Doug Weir's excellent observations, I have to respond. The problems with public education are obvious but not simple to fix. They are unionized teachers, politicians for administrators, an army of hungry and unscrupulous lawyers and lazy slobs for parents. Why not privatize the whole system? Let parents pay the school of their choice directly instead of property taxes. Let the schools compete for students and dollars. Charter schools are pointing the way. Throwing more money into the existing abyss is futile.
