REFORM: Remove Luna from office
If you know a school teacher, you know they need protection. They are threatened every day by students and parents alike. Tom Luna desires to eliminate all protection for teachers.
Consider this situation: Johnny hasn't done well this semester. He needs a certain grade point average to get into the college he (and dad) want him to go to. He does a lousy job on his paper. He may have tried, or may have slacked off, it doesn't matter. His GPA is down.
Johnny's teacher gets a visit from dad. Imagine every possible threat that could arise from a parent that wants "his way"... "You can't give Johnny a C, he won't get into his college! (or scholarship)" I am rich and powerful!" (or a political figure in town, or my brother is on the school board), I'LL HAVE YOUR JOB!"
As ugly as this sounds, it happens now. People aren't nice, but the teachers have been brave. Tom Luna wants to take away every bit of their protection. We need to have a "No Confidence" vote, and remove him from office.
The Federal Government is watching our state, and will move to implement whatever we allow here on the rest of the country. Let's stop him NOW, and return the funding of our schools to our property taxes. They can be raised if needed, then we could revert some of the LCDC funds to the schools. Lastly, LET'S PASS THE LEVY!
