MUSIC: STOMP concert shows why vote matters
I attended the STOMP concert two weeks ago at Lake City High School. It was a unique, interactive and creative performance. The students used trash cans, drumsticks, hands, feet, chairs, random objects, black lights and spotlights. There were people of all ages who filled the auditorium and were awed at the talent of these young men and women. The performance was a one-of-a-kind opportunity and the choreography was unsurpassed!
After the concert I was mingling with students and talking to parents. There were a few parents who were talking about school funding. They informed me that the maintenance and operations levy election is coming up. It is activities like STOMP that keep kids coming back to school and connected to our community. I plan to vote yes on March 8 in order to keep these activities alive!
