SENATORS: Plea not original or wise
First, I found Mr. Ogilvie’s “letter” to be quite interesting. It looked like any old direct mail form letter coming from some Republican-oriented activist group. Obviously, because of all the names of Democratic senators and two independents found there in.
However, at the time that this transcribed material was published in Wednesday’s Coeur d’Alene Press, the fate of the Health Care Reform Act had already been decided in the Senate. Only one burdensome regulation had been repealed, that affecting small businesses. Second, the state of Idaho can not vote for all Senators that Ogilvie mentioned. Come 2012, those Senators will have to answer only to their own voters who may choose to retain them. Plagiarizing form letters, and having them published under his name, is hardly original material and further, outside its use as fundraising material, I’d have to say that Ogilvie is either extremely gullible or a very ignorant man.
Second, responding to W. Dean Hirsch; I’d have to say that Rep. Phil Hart has a profound understanding of his own interpretation of the U.S. Constitution and his highly selective reading of history to justify why he is a tax cheat and timber thief. But that doesn’t make him any less a criminal elected to office even if the GOP circle the wagons around this latest stain on their character, or lack thereof. For Hirsch to slam Mr. Patrick because of his taking a dim view of Hart’s behavior. Bear in mind that there are plenty of people who take a dim view of Hart as he doesn’t meet the necessary moral standards to be an elected official. And no amount of “constitutional justification” will change that.
